Study Confirms That Men Are Dumb....

Every year, the British Medical Journal releases a Christmas edition with some offbeat and silly research. This year, there's a rather morbidly humorous study about which gender is more likely to die as a result of doing something really, really dumb. Spoiler alert: It's men. A team led by Ben Alexander Daniel, a student at the King Edward VI School in the U.K., simply looked at all of the Darwin Award winners between 1995 and 2014 — this is an award given to confirmed instances of people meeting untimely ends as a result of, to phrase it diplomatically, poor decision-making — and calculated the gender breakdown. Read More Here......

What do you think are the odds that you will die during the next year?

This is not a morbid blog post, actually it's a great time to appreciate what you have and live in the moment. Guy Kawasaki posted a very interesting post discussing the fact that the probability of dying during a given year doubles every 8 years. For a 25-year-old American, the probability of dying during the next year is a fairly minuscule 0.03% — about 1 in 3,000. When he's 33 it will be about 1 in 1,500, when he's 42 it will be about 1 in 750, and so on. By the time He reaches age 100 the probability of living to 101 will only be about 50%. This is seriously fast growth — my mortality rate is increasing exponentially with age. The full story is in Gravity and Levity
